The Junior Friends of the Mattapoisett Free Public Library is a community service-based youth group that promotes and supports the Mattapoisett Library.
 
The JFOL is looking for new members! We welcome motivated students in grades 5 through 12 who enjoy community service and helping others.  Visit one of our meetings held usually on the second Friday of each month at 3 pm.  Please see our Junior Friends' Brochure for an application or for more information, or stop by or call the children's department at 508-758-4171 with any questions.
 
Activities of the JFOL include:
  • Assisting the adult Friends group with their monthly Book Sale
  • Showing movies to younger children
  • Offering help with activities at library events
  • Assisting the library staff with the Annual Children's Lawn Games
  • Planning and hosting seasonal parties and events for younger children
  • Assisting the library staff with volunteer duties, like shelving books, labeling new materials, cleaning and organizing toys and puzzles and helping with library displays.
  • Participating in fun programs and events for our members
  • Fund-raising and crafting to support the Children's Department.
